Trailer Coupler/Tongue Locks Keyed Alike 2KA-379-37

The 379 Coupler Lock is designed to protect unattended trailers and guard against tow-away theft. This universal trailer coupler lock fits a range of couplers, including 1-7/8in (48mm), 2in (51mm), and most 2-5/16in (59mm) couplers by various manufacturers such as Reese, Fulton, Valley, Atwood, Shelby, Putnam, Hammerblow, Dutton, Lainson, and UFP.

The lock's simple yet effective design makes it difficult to defeat. When locked onto the trailer, the lock rests on top of the coupler, thwarting blunt force from downward hammer strikes. Additionally, the lock's ability to rotate (less rigidity) makes it harder to break with sledgehammer force.

Crafted with Reinforced Zinc Die-Cast, these locks resist rust and corrosion. Zinc alloys provide exceptional strength and toughness, with impact resistance significantly higher than cast aluminum alloys, plastics, and grey cast iron. These alloys offer high strengths (up to 60,000 psi) and superior elongation, making them ideal for strong designs and formability in bending, crimping, and riveting operations.

The 37 Latch Lock is compatible with 1-7/8 and 2-inch couplers, as well as a wide range of standard hasp applications. These locks feature a removable shackle sleeve: with the sleeve removed, the lock secures coupler latches; with the sleeve on, it works best with hasps. The non-rigid shackle has enough play to fit virtually all coupler latches less than 7/8 wide.

However, the 37 Latch Lock is not recommended for all 2-5/16 couplers. It works great on 1-7/8 and 2-inch couplers, but may not fit some 2-5/16 couplers, particularly if the latch is recessed on top of the coupler or wider than 3/4 inches. In these cases, it's recommended to choose the lock set with the standard #3 padlock (2KA-379-3).

The lock's specifications include a 3/4" (19mm) Armored Shackle Guard, which helps block bolt cutters, and a revolving, case-hardened steel shackle sleeve that resists cutting and sawing.

These locks are designed for complete security for your trailer's coupler/tongue. They are keyed alike, with one key opening both locks, and come with a limited lifetime warranty.
