Some trucks with heavy-duty tow packages or other special features come standard with "doubler plates" welded onto the sides of the tube. In this case, you will need the longer shaft 1469KA receiver lock, which measures 3-1/2 inches long. When it comes to latch padlock features, it's essential to note that this lock is not recommended for all 2-5/16 couplers. It works exceptionally well on 1-7/8 and 2-inch couplers, but the 37 latch lock may not fit some 2-5/16 couplers. If the latch is recessed on top of the coupler, it can be difficult to insert, or if the latch is wider than 3/4 inches, the lock won't close properly. In such cases, it's best to choose the lock set with the standard #3 padlock, which you can find by searching for 3KA-377-3.
